I thought everyone did. In fact, if I recall correctly, they didn't just consider it an option. They considered it the only possibility.

Also, Vita is not just doing bad. It is near flopping levels. The 3DS had a bumpy start but it started cruising uphill shortly after . Vita drove accross a casm with no bridge and its parachute is stuck.

Its not dead yet, but its on the brink. I doubt Sony would discontinue it though regardless of how badly it does. Sony has become an extremely stubbor company.
