The PS2 is far from a failure.

Big selling games dont mean much, if they dont expand your library with other 10, 5, 3, 2, 1 Million sellers.

Ots impossible to define a casual game, so you go at a genre. A genre that can be enjoyed by any and all ages. Eg, Sports. I posted proof that the PS2 did match the Wii in certain genres, sometimes beating the Wii. It did that AND had substantiak support for non-casuals too.
Youbdont understand that despite Wii Sports, Mario, Wii Fit, etc. all selling 20m+ the PS2 still had a richer SW market. The PS2 didnt need a 20 Million selling party game, for other games to sell multi-million copies.
