But Eurogamer makes it seem like it's definitely weaker than the 360/PS3. I can't understand why though, does Eurogamer benefit from a poorly performing Nintendo platform or are they just one of the sour grapes who were against motioncontrols and can't stand the fact Nintendo was succesful with the Wii?

As for the inconsistencies. A year ago we had various statements from several big name 3rd party dev's claiming Wii U would be a lot more powerful than the HD twins. So unless Nintendo has decided to weaken the dev kits (very unlikely) I say it's all regular anti Ninty bs.

Are we clicking and reading the same article? The impression I got was that it'll be more powerful then PS3 and 360 and have more gameplay options with the tablet controller. The main quote that's highlighted in bold is "It's comparable to the current generation and a bit more powerful than that,", so I don't know why you think they're making it seem it's weaker then PS3 or 360.

The comparisons with the next gen consoles from MS/Sony are where they say it'll be weaker (based on developer comments) and that's not surprising considering they haven't been announced yet and will have an extra year at least.

As for the dev kits, it wouldn't surprise me if any of the 3 have scaled back dev kits since their first iterations, especially Ninty and Sony who are both losing money due in no small part to exchange rates.
