On the one hand, that would be a portable MH, which are much more popular than console MH. On the other, it would be releasing on a portable with a very low install base, but then again, so would the Wii U port. So I'm going to say no.

I'm going to say that the first year Wii U hits the market it will outperform the first year of PSVita, hardware and software wise. 

So it could end up being a significant title. More in Japan of course. 

It is much more popular on handhelds you say ? Well, Wii U is a pseudo handheld under any Wii U wifi range, so you could look at it as the ultime home-portable Monster Hunter.
