I've found that whenever Pachter makes one of his predictions, especially Nintendo related (Nintendo needed to release a Wii HD about 3 years ago, the 3DS is doomed, etc) and then these predictions turn out to be the exact opposite, he always doubles down with more over the top rhetoric.
This is the same guy who said at the end of last year that the PSVita's first 3 months of sales would top the 3DS's first 3 months of sales, and that despite the almost year-long head start by the 3DS, the PSV would eventually outshine it.
