Hate is a strong word, but I do dislike some of their business practices and their products are definitely not for me. I was tempted to buy a Mac a few years ago, but considering I'm a PC gamer, it seemed silly to spend all that money on what is essentially a good but gimmicky OS when I could build a superior PC with a stable operating system for half the price. Oh, and I play all my games on superior hardware without having to dual boot Windows.

As for the iPhone, my girlfriend has one and my brother-in-law who always has to have the latest smart phone had one. The amount of times he's called me up to sort out iTunes for him... everyone saying it's crap are right.

As for their business practices:

Recently, they sued a rival company over patents that shouldn't have been granted. Every big tech company has ridiculous patents, but to actually act on these ridiculous patents is damaging for consumers.

They also make claims of invention, but don't actually invent most of the tech that they sell. They put together tech and sell it in a user friendly package.

Their marketing, whilst actually very clever and well done, comes close to crossing the line to falsehood. For one thing, they passively pushed the myth that MacOS couldn't catch viruses (I don't believe they ever outright said Macs didn't have viruses... but just look at the PC vs Mac ads). Whilst there are far less viruses than for PC, you should still use anti-virus software.

They overcharge for their products. This is predominantly because their marketing is so good they can inflate their prices. See my Mac vs PC argument above for instance.

In my experience, some staunch Apple fans tend to aggravate the matter with false information or trying to push opinion as fact. However, being on VGChartz, a lot of people can be that way about their preferred company
