"A gathering place for avatars, all of which represent gamers you know or live near, all conglomerating around icons representing games they're playing, all text-chirping about their status in the games"
reminds me a lot of ps home
I've used home quite a few times. That wouldn't be how I would describe and this doesn't look anything like it.
how would you describe home differently?
sure the avatars don't congregate around icons, i'd change that, but otherwise it seems about the same to me
Home plays kind of like the Sims or a hub to an MMO game. Its like an independent environment where you run around talk to people or initiate games that you've purchased to play together.
Miiverse is just like the Mii channel and the system menu on the Wii fused together. Everything is always there.
The games show up like channels did on the Wii only with Mii's of the people who played the games gather around. It is an enhanced version of the Wii's system menu. Its not a seperate program like Home. Its the actual boot screen.
What part of this looks like Home?
...so according to you the reason they can't be compared is that ps home is a seperate program while this is the main menu?
i already posted what i found to be similar
"A gathering place for avatars, all of which represent gamers you know or live near, all conglomerating around icons representing games they're playing, all text-chirping about their status in the games"
the major difference imo is as you said the implementation and that the view of the avatars is pulled back
but regardless the concept of avatars gathering in a space to converse seems to be shared between the 2 to me
Loaded questoin. I never said they couldn't be comnpared. i said they were not the same. You can compare them as much as you wish.
The reasons are every single reason I listed. Not one, not two. All of them.
so you disagree that the concept of avatars gathering in a space to converse is shared between the 2?
