I really don't think so. While 4 million in japan is my prediction too, in the west I think it'll not be even close to what the last one did - which is a shame. Market changed a lot imo.

Maybe the only way to thrive sales would be for next gen to go for the GB/GBA route... weak hardware... but for 69.99. I'm looking at an ad here, GBA in 2003 was 59.99... crazy.

And I still think the west will eat up Mario, I just think that 3D Land is affecting sales a bit now since 3D Land is not your typical 3D platformer, more like 2D in 3D? Which is why it's selling better than 3D Mario games, but less than 2D. So NSMB 2 should start kicking this holiday season. The hold has been strong anyways
