It's bigger than that:

http://tech.fortune.cnn.com/2012/08/20/apple-overtakes-microsoft-as-most-valuable-stock-of-all-time/

Still has some $200 billion to go to reach inflation-adjusted most valuable company ever. Could happen in the next year.

WOW. Didn't know Microsoft hit $618 billion during the first tech bubble. Anyone major shareholder who sold at that peak must be diving in money like Scrooge Mcduck. Wonder what Apple's high going to be.

That's the big difference between then and now: Apple isn't riding a bubble. If anything, Apple is still a little undervalued.

Well that depends if they can sustain it in the long term. The stock is outside the reach of amateur investors. Not sure what the minimum buy is if someone wants to buy it. I am somewhat skeptical of the stock performance for people who are buying it now. It might still hit $1,000 but the best ones were the ones who bought when others were selling in 08.

Despite my skepticism the facts are that Apple brings more revenue from just their phones than Microsoft now does with everything they do.http://www.bgr.com/2012/08/20/iphone-q1-2012-profit-microsoft/
