It's say it's inspired by SMB just like Star Wars and the Hidden Fortress. It's not a rip off, it just takes a good concept and uses it as a foundation. But with that said I don't see it selling well. The Nintendo characters are timeless like Disney and have mass appeal. Sony's characters don't fit well together and all have there own niche. Everyone knows who Mario and Donkey Kong are, but Kratos isn't exactly a house hold name. Hardcore Sony fan will buy it, but it won't be the phenomenon that SMB became.
