Everyone, check out this video. Bottom line: Batman and Assassin's Creed 3 in native 1080p on WiiU is confirmed. AC3 at 60fps... maybe, maybe not (and this rumor may have extended to Batman as well). So even if the 60fps ends up being false, nobody here is entirely wrong:
The guy may know something about hardware. But he made me facepalm about how he trivalized porting the porting between 360/WiiU. He may not of meant it but there would be somechanges nessary to make it run on the WiiU since you need to change between DirectX and OpenGL but since the engine being used in both is UE3 all that will need is an engine change out. But that is my beef with the video but that is getting into more of the programming side of things.
Being that both games run on the Unreal 3 engine, which runs on XBox 360, PS3, PC, Linux and Mac OS, and that it is rendering through OpenGL on many of these platforms (PS3, Linux and Mac OS at least), I suspect porting the games is probably far less difficult than you think ...
Never said it was difficult. Just an engine swap (UE3 optimized for the 360 to UE3 optimized for the the Wii U) and come scripting changes and opmizations. That is the "easy" port. More in-depth ports include resource tweeks to make it look better and optizing the engine itself to accomdate the scritping to make it run better on the machine. But the guy was saying they could just put the 360 code and a Wii U disc which is a gross oversimplification.
