I'm not sure why people expected big things from the Vita in the West anyway.
The PSP had become basically an irrelevant platform in the West for years now (FF7: Crisis Core was sorta its last hurrah here).
Japan with Monster Hunter was what revived the PSP brand, but without MH in Japan, Vita is obviously hurting over there big time too.
