You can still buy a PSP go. The problem is that they couldn't bolster the library up to provide a truly better experience to someone looking to UMD it up. Developers didn't have to get a digital version of their game to release and past titles are hard to work out to get on the store in a reasonable time. The Vita is the god send for the PS store guaranteeing every retail game will be available on the store first day and even a few newer PSP games have took the initiative and are digital now. Essentially there has never been a better time to get a PSP go because of the big push for PSP games to go digital so they are available for the Vita. So if you like the PSP go's design and only plan on buying PSP games it is a good choice, but if the original design is more to your liking and you want newer next gen games get the VIta. In all honesty the Vita makes a PSP go purchase harder to make. You can get a wifi Vita with a bundle or store deal for $50 more and you won't run out of best new games like the PSP will in the near future (not sure when but developers will start to switch over).
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
