There is no way that there would be one netcode that every game would have to use anyway because different games have different requirements you can't use the same net code in a racing game as you would in an FPS for example and even 2 different games in the same genre could use different netcode. Then you have the stupidity of EA thinking that they would be able to take control of Nintendo's store front. There is no way in hell Nintendo would agree to give complete control of the store front let alone a 3rd party have control over other 3rd parties access to the service. I can't believe for a second that, an idea that absurd was seriously presented to Nintendo. Creating and maintaining the infrastructure maybe but not the day to day running of the entire online system. And I can't see how Nintendo turning down such an absurd offer would affect support from entirely different divisions of the company. Also I am not sure about the timeline of this, because I know that Moor went to check out the Wii U "“From our perspective right now, specs are a big deal,” he said, adding that during his trip, he will looking to find out more about the gadget’s graphic and computer processing units, its price and when it might be shipped." http://blogs.reuters.com/mediafile/2011/10/06/ea-we-love-wii-u/ But after that trip he talked up the Wii U's online system, and that was last November months after E3 http://wiiugo.com/peter-moore-wii-us-online-capabilities-are-really-extensive/ When is this falling out meant to have happened? some time early this year? because development of EA's Wii U support must have been decided long before then. Then there is the Mass Effect trilogy comment, the problem with which is MS owns the publishing rights to the first game. Which is why it was never released on the PS3. |
If there is no netcode then how does it run on the internet?
