You say that there is a perceived notion that Nintendo is leaning away from its hardcore fans, however that notion, while sometimes propogated by Nintendo, is fueled by the game sites, when evidence that it's simply not true, exists with every single first party Wii game. Honestly, when has nintendo ever put out a more hardcore series of franchises so quickly, then it has this generation? Zelda, Metroid, Mario, Brawl, Kart? Not to mention upcoming Kirby games. Nintendo hasn't stopped supporting the hardcore, it has just increased supporting the casuals and that is why it's hated.
