He does state why, I read this one at BBC news, it says it's mainly because of the UI and because of the Windows Store. He fears that if Microsoft chooses a closed plattform, it would be a threat to Steam. If Microsoft actually does that, I don't see how that wouldn't be less of a 'Catastrophe' for Valve.

Oh god that does sound like a catastrophe. Not just for Valve, but for all consumers who currently value the open system of Windows.
