What are Crytek's other strengths as a developer besides technological excellence?

I've never played any of their games, but from what I hear they are also good level designers. I'm just wondering what Nintendo could do with them if they worked together? More importantly, how trustworthy are they to handle a Nintendo-like game design?

I think giving them Metroid is too big of a risk for a first time partnership, Nintendo wouldn't do that unless it was a collaboration type project like they had with Team Ninja. Even then I think Nintendo are probably wary of having an external team take on Metroid.

TimeSplitters 4 Wii U exclusive (even timed exclusive) would be magnificent, and this is definitely something I could see Nintendo get behind.

Do Crytek own any other popular IP besides Crysis and TimeSplitters?

@bold. Why? Retro was unproven as far as I can tell before they were handed Metroid. They've done it before. They also did it with team Ninja.
