You think you will act a certain way in a certain situation, but traumatic experiences take a very big toll on the brain emotionally. Think about it. You've never been in this kind of situation before, adrenaline is pumping through your body, you honestly think you are going to die, your mind is whizzing around with a million thoughts in a split second, there is chaos all around you, and you expect me to believe that you can think straight.
