And if there is an exclusive 'hardcore' game (Resi 4, No More Heroes, Red Steel 2 etc.), then people complain that it's on a 'kiddy' system, and thus 'Nintendo systems have no gamez'.

Actually, that's just the people online.

No More Hereos sales on Wii: 0.52 million.

No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise sales on PS3: 0.13 million (plus 0.09 million in Japan for the "Red Zone edition").

No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise sales on 360: 0.02 million.

For an undoubtedly niche title, No More Heroes did very well on the Wii. As did the sequel, at 0.34 million. In fact, if I remember correctly, they're Suda 51's best-selling games of all time, or close to it.

Resident Evil 4 sold over 2 million on the Wii. Not bad for a port that was on both PS2 and GameCube.

Red Steel 2 is a sad case - it would have sold so much better if they'd given it a completely new name. It sold poorly to people who liked the first game, because it was so different, and it sold poorly to people who disliked the first game, because it was "Red Steel". Even still, it managed a respectable 0.53 million.

I'm well aware that it's people online, but devs do listen to the people online. And it does tend to grate. And for the kind of niche titles they are, the people online will likely be the main market for these kind of games...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
