You should know by now that 'hardcore' gamers claim that they want 'hardcore' games for Nintendo consoles, but then don't buy them.
And if there is an exclusive 'hardcore' game (Resi 4, No More Heroes, Red Steel 2 etc.), then people complain that it's on a 'kiddy' system, and thus 'Nintendo systems have no gamez'.
They just can't win. It's been this way for years, and it continue to be so for the foreseeable future.

And the system had only been out for little over a year, with few heavy-hitters and multiple niche titles. With NSMB2, Luigi's Mansion, Paper Mario etc. this year, I would expect Western sales to pick up very soon.
