In the west? I have a hard time believing that. Every person that bought a Wii would have a copy. 

I didn't have a copy with mine and it was  a launch Wii. I've never had Wii Sports at all.

I'm taking your word for it, but I'm sure I remembered the first console being just the Wii and 1 Wii mote then later being released with Wii Sports and 2 Wiimotes.
