As much as I appreciate Nintendo's novelty of asymmetrical playing, I fear it's not for me. I generally don't have others over to play in person with me anymore, and even when I do we will want to be doing the same thing together, not taking on different roles.
I hope this asymmetrical play isn't integral to their games and only adds somewhat superfluous content.
