Yeah, I was sitting next to my brother, and when the movie started he leaned over and said "I thought this was supposed to be a CG movie?". 
While Cars 1 was a fine movie (while I abhor Larry the Cable Guy, the story itself was a fine one. Still, it's second to last on my Pixar ranking list.), Cars 2 is a total travesty. I still can't believe it's a Pixar film... heck, the majority of DreamWorks and even Sony Animation movies are better than that movie. I felt like it was just a ploy meant to strengthen the retail brand...
Bugs Life isn't my favorite Pixar movie, but I found it better than both Cars films.
Here's how I would rank the Pixar movies:
