I'm all for it too, but that doesn't mean that, to gameplay, they aren't gimmicks. You said it yourself, they're "seperate from actual gameplay", so there you have it. On a vg consoles, they are gimmicks, just very well accepted. But it becomes funny when something is actually not a gimmick that it's rejected and called one, that's what blows the mind.
