http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/this-britain/fear-of-crime-makes-uk-most-watched-country-in-europe-561265.html

"British people are living in greater fear of crime than any other European nation, an anxiety that is fuelling the massive increase in closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras, a two-year study has revealed."

"Fears that the UK would "sleep-walk into a surveillance society" have become a reality, the government's information commissioner has said."

"We have more CCTV cameras and we have looser laws on privacy and data protection."

"There are up to 4.2m CCTV cameras in Britain - about one for every 14 people."

I assume BBC is a reputable source right? Maybe they are just really good at hiding them?

Why is it a bad thing? You should only be against it if you like to not be caught up to no good. Shouldn't it be a safer invironment with more cameras. Seriously unless your a serial rapist or the town paedo then you shouldnt care about the amount of cameras there are. I have nothing to hide so the big brother can keep watching me.

That is grade A BS logic in my eyes. It's not whether someone has something to hide, it's respecting other people's privacy. The government should never have that much power. The government is getting too strong everywhere. They try to tell us how to live and I'm sick of it. Now they want to tell me what to buy too. It's BS.
