You are pretty much looking at this the wrong way.

The reason why PS and Xbox arent in as bad shape as they are in now is because their next gen systems wont be released within a year, while Nintendo's will be released sometime this year more than likely.

Look at the 3DS hate, look at the Vita hate, their all very similar, even now after their release dates have passed.

The same thing that is happening with the Wii-U now will happen to the Playstation brand and the Xbox Brand when their time comes. (Especially the PS brand after what happened with the PS3).
