As long as the U gets the 3DS treatment (games tailored to it, in volume), then I'll be more than happy. Even if it doesn't get the twin games, as long as the U games are AAA I'll be content. Nintendo can sustain a 100M userbase if Wii and the DS lines are any indicator of interest for Nintendo's non core, more family friendly platforms. I'm starting to understand that core multiplats are not needed anymore, the HD twins are there for those.
As long as Nintendo serves some core 1st party IPs, and 3rd parties follow their lead, I'll be happy.
Funny I say this hey? :) Was about time I realized it I think.
Actually, instead of being upset, I should be happy because this creates a niche that can offer fresh and new game experiences.
