As it were, I'll repeat what I wrote:

They now give a shit, but their foundation is on not giving a shit. As such, they were not the natural evolution, but got flucky. Just like the Wii got flucky and is not a natural evolution. It's sad to me that history played this way. I wish it would have been different and that the market, circumstance and wiser decisions would have led to the outcome where Nintendo is king of both casual and core offerings, as it was meant to be.
3rd parties made it happen for Sony in its origin.
Money made it happen for Microsoft in its origin.
The biggest losers were SEGA and Nintendo. Thank heavens Nintendo is still in the game, but sadly they came out the other side emasculated.
