To be clear, when exactly is the point that i lose access to Sword Valley and Galahad Fortress? I found a UM way off to one side in Sword Valley that i'm not ready to tackle yet, but could be ready for with a bit of leveling (meaning i would have to be, since i lose access to it.)

One fricking flower in Sword Valley too that i can't seem to find for the Collectepedia. Is it possible to trade for such things?

When you enter the High-Velocity Lift and walk to the next marker, a boss fight begins. After that boss, the area is locked off (you'll see why). I assume that UM is a fortress unit, no? Horrific fight, it really is. And the flower may be the Red Frontier. You need 3 for Colony 6, I think, and you CAN trade, but you need 4/5* affinity with the Machina. I think Eiz trades, but I'm far from certain.

No, delerium foxglove. I've got tons of red frontier.

Yes, there were two UM giants right in the same area. One was a surprise quest, the second, level 58, was rather monstrous. I'll have to pull off the trick i pulled with Xord on him if i can (that is, pump up Chain Attack guage before i jump in, so i can try to get it down, then with some of Shulk and Seven's abilities, i can keep it down and really kick him while it's down there)

I think it has a topple spike...the key is, during a vision, just before the attack, use shutdown/tranquilizer to put it to sleep, thus breaking the chain, giving you precious seconds.

Yeah, i figured that out with Seven. What seems to happen is if the enemy's got a really killer art coming in, putting it to sleep just changes the incoming attack a few seconds later, but it's usually a weaker attack, so you save it for that sure-kill and just shuffle things around.

Fuck, i wasn't thinking when i wrote that post, was i? I'll edit.

Exactly. Putting the enemy to sleep, confusing the enemy or dazing the enemy smashes the vision all the way back to the Art, and so a different Art is selected, which also gives you a fair while to respond. Great for avoiding sure-kills, or group attacks (that's the circle at the start of the Art. The line is a straight attack, damaging anyone in front, and the fan will damage anyone within a certain radius of the attack).

And you weren't on the ball for that post, but I'll forgive you this once

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
