Sword Valley and Gallahad Fortress become locked out upon completion of Mechonis Field, so there's plenty of time to get a convenient level for the UMs in these two areas. Of course, as long as the story events of Fallen Arm aren't completed (where Mr Khan is right now), you can't travel to any previous areas.

I stand corrected. I thought those places locked out when you entered Mechonis.

...although I'm getting an odd sense of deja vu about this...
