I did reply to your argument.  You said Mario is the most generic game and listed reasons why you think so, and I countered it by saying you were wrong on those points.  The game changed fundamentally in all those reiterations throughout those years, and one of the only things that link them together is either the genre or the fact that Mario is in it.

firstly this is all a mater of opinion i should mention this. secondly in terms of story? no its simply the same, how is it defferent?people here been saying it doesnt have any story defending mario that way, i guess it proves my point.  the worlds are different and it would be stupid to call mario generic in that way, really stupid. but going on to charecters? come on not even nintendo can state that they arenet generic. art style, the graphics are different from one another but you can spot a mario game directly when looking at a screen even if you never played it before, the models and texutres have the same direction as the games before it, understand the worlds are vastly different and look extremely different but the direction of the art is still the same. as for sound its still the same you cant argue about that. also story telling and story are VERY DIFFERENT you might have an awesome story but tell it in a crappy way and you might have a crappy story but tell it in an awesome way and make it sound good. mario has both bad story telling and a bad story

Paper Mario, Mario RPG, Luigi's Mansion (which doesn't deserve to be clumped as a Mario game), Mario Galaxy, Super Mario World (barely a story, but still), Yoshi Story, and more.

ok how about this, explain the story of any of these games and i will compare it to god of war or red dead redemptions story you chose and lets see the who comes out better? agreed?

That's wholly up to the person, it's pointless to argue it.
