Everybody, Luigi's Mansion is NOT a Mario game. The game is not about MARIO, and focuses around LUIGI who gained much more of a personality after the game was released. Barely anything is similar to Luigi's Mansion and the regular Mario games. I hate when people think just because Mario or Mario-related stuff is in the game that it automatically is a Mario game. That makes Kingdom Hearts a Final Fantasy game, then. It also means that Super Smash Bros. is a SONIC game and a Metal Gear game along with most of Nintendo's franchises.
