Then I saw the budget and how well it did and was happy. Usually a star like carrel in an end of the world comedy type movie is going to have a sizable budget. But it did not. I knew project X and chernobyle and a few others would do fine and I knew they had small budgets. So this movie just kind of surprised me. |
The only movie that Steve Carell was in that had a out of control budget was Evan Almighty. But that was a calculated risk because they thought the movie could easily make as much or almost as much as Bruce Almighty. But that movie really didn't hurt his career that much and every movie he has been in after that has been profitable.
