Oh, including. I don't think all pre-orders are "sold" first day.

My personal guess for the day is 2m if they count the pre-orders plus the amount they sold on day one.  However, I don't really have much knowledge on how many people pre-order vs buying on day one at stores.  So I wouldn't be surprised if I'm wrong by a lot.
