I think they've already made some changes that may affect that price point.

Primarily, all rumors now show PowerPC CPUs vs ARM based CPUs. This is a big difference as it removes the need to have 360s CPU along with the ARM processors but the PPC CPUs cost more than ARM. There is surely other changes as various components become more of fact vs planned.

However, I do think a $299 base model is a 50/50 shot with a $379 or $399 high end model.

There aren't any rumors about an AMD CPU anymore? How sad.
