i like "see it as race"
why should someone see it as race if the manufacturer doesn't see it as race? because then, microsoft and sony would try much harder to sell more just to win "the race"
microsoft would give us xbox live for free and would sell more units then and would have done more advertisement in europe and would lower the price but they won't because they rather sell less consoles and get better financial results than selling 40k consoles more per month.
and sony would lower the price as well much earlier to win the not existing race just to sell 5 million units more lifetime.
