why is that particular comparison in your headline? odd choice.

Because, during the past year, people were calling the UK the "soon to be second largest market" for video games. This was period where UK was doing more SW+HW than Japan during a slow period. Things have now entered back into equilibrium.

And it isn't even the 3rd largest. Looks like we were ignoring South Korea all this time, and China.
