Vita will die without a price cut in 2012

Assuming there's no pricecut, then the Vita may fall as low as 40k per week, which certainly isn't an encouraging position for devs!

But I think the Vita will be just fine. It may have a bit of a, well, rubbish start, but with the games, I think it'll really take off this holiday season.
