Even more important than doing your taxes and balancing a checkbook is managing your budget. Look at how much you make and what your necessities are and learn how to pay your bills and save some money every month. Don't think just because you want something that you need it. You need water, electricity and food. Everything else can be lived without. It's very, VERY important to learn how to keep a responsible budget so you aren't living paycheck to paycheck worried if you'll be able to both eat and keep the electricity on. Do that and you'll be able to buy the things that make life enjoyable like video games and still have some left over for that down payment on a house you'll be looking into in about 10 years.
Oh and don't jump the gun on owning property either. Build up credit, pay your bills, and rent for at least 5 years and ideally 10. That way you'll have a sizable savings account to help with financing.
Oh and don't lease a car and don't buy new. Find a decent reliable used vehicle that meets your needs and pay cash. That way you won't have yet another monthly payment decreasing your savings. It's better to drive a used car with a few scratches then buy or lease and watch money disappear as the rig drops in value. You'll be able to afford a new car when later.
Oh and never "rent to own" anything. Total waste of money.
