So retailes cut is more like $30-50 and not $90 eh? ;) So my calculations were semi-accurate.

I never forget.

No, the PS4 would be more expensive, so it costs more for importing (over the £250 import barrier in the UK, for example), and also retailers would want a bigger cut. So it'd be more like $70-$80, but yeah, not $90

outlawauron says retailers make next to nothing on hardware ($1 - $5), and make it moneyz from software. He has no source, but nor do we, and I'm hoping he will deliver that source as I've asked. I'm just taking his word for it as his word is as good as yours, except it agrees with me ;)

The smaller stores won't get as much monies made out of it, obviously. I know that, when I bought my 3DS, I asked my local Gamestation how much it cost them to buy each 3DS (because it was more expensive to buy at Gamestation than other places), and they said it cost them £184 per unit, which they were selling for £210. Other stores had a lower margin (I believe the cheapest at launch was £189?), and obviously Gamestation bought more units, so they can buy cheaper.

I know the margin wasn't as big for the Vita, but there you are. Even if only a few £ are made at retail, they still need to pay for, as I've said before, shipping costs, import fees, VAT etc., which takes a hefty chunk out...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
