Or maybe those people actually plan to buy the games they listed. That could be a possiblity.

People do spend a lot on their hobbies at times, I know I spent about 200$ on Blu-ray movies every single month for almost a year so games for 2000$ in one year might not be that extreme. I also had a friend who spent over 12.000$ (!) on Anime DVD's in one year!

Tell me about it - I'm spending over $1000 on PC parts alone this year. Nevermind the games I'm buying with it, the Halo 4 Xbox console, a new PS3 from Colorware, and the rest of the console games that I have to buy.

You should consider painting your PS3 yourself. I painted my original Xbox a nice metallic green with a clear lacquer top coat. I painted my Xbox 360 Pro black with a heavy duty black lacquer. All spray pain rattle cans and it all looked as good as the pictures I saw on Colorware's website. Think about it, cans of paint are only $4 and after that it only costs you some time.
