Well, i rarely find interest in things on PSN. I imagine it would be worse for 360. It's hard finding something you like. I don't use Steam. I've got about 25 PSN titles, and the only ones I stick with are Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, Wipeout HD, and Sonic CD... the rest... I play once in a looong while when I'm bored. It's a real shame. Except, I do stick to the games for a while when i first buy them.. But, as time goes on, only those games I mentioned, I actively return to. Not to mention, also... paying for Xbox live... For the money, I'd rather buy different things.. be it a game, or a subscription for a more meaningful service. People talk about how xbox live is better, but, I'd gotten some pretty bad lag on live before. And, generally, it seems to me that games now lag just as often on each system. Virtua Fighter and marvel vs. capcom 2 have almost no noticable lag for me.. Especially virtua fighter. So, if neither service is lagging, and xbox only has 500 games, I'm just not seeing what's supposed to be so great about the service. The last thing I used it for was to download a virtua fighter 5 demo to get some practice in before final showdown.... Totally useless, on my part. I thought about getting final showdown for 360, but.... Why would I do that? Is there a download history that you can go back to on 360? |
You don't need to pay a subsription to purchase or play games from Xbox Live Arcade.
I think 500 games (remember that's only XBLA games. Not Games on Demand (AKA downloads from retail games) or indie games) is plenty to choose from, plus they are high quality.
Look at the most recent releases on Xbox 360:

XBLA exclusives:
Trials Evolution
Fez
Sine Mora
Minecraft*
Anomaly Warzone Earth*
The Splatters
Shoot Many Robots*
Joy Ride Turbo
*also on PC
And yes there is a download history.
