However, things should be looser for members who have been here for longer, as they've proven that it's only a rarity (e.g I've gone 5,000 posts without moderator action, so I'd be upset if I get banned for the slightest joke). If you ask me, the main issue with the system currently is that there's too few mods; however, the ones there currently are are doing a great job. It's just some things seem to fly completely under the radar, whilst the slightest 'joke' is banned immediately. I can only imagine this is because the mod team is stretched too thin, and as I've only really seen 3 mods on the site who are active frequently (Barozi, Kantor, Axumblade), that's probably a fair assumption. So, overall, the system is fine, but it's not perfect. |
Which new user said that ? I wanna check if he got at least a warning for that. (in case you paraphrased him correctly)
Your 5000th post was at the beginning of April 2012 and you have 7 moderations (3 bans). *cough*

Yes, but my 2,000th post was a year ago, and the last ban and even a warning (I thought I only had 1 ban TBH, the other ones must've been real short), hence I said I've been a year, and 5,000 posts, without moderation action.
I could name the user here, but I don't want to break any rules for discussing moderator action, which again I've been told not to in the past. Let's just say that user was banned a few days ago for Flaming and calling people "Nintendo zombies" by Kantor (I did not realise this at the time I made my post), but the posts I was talking about was over a month ago. So that's good, but it should have been done a long time ago; something I'm sure many people would agree with.
I wouldn't mind quite as much, but he enters Nintendo threads, and numerous Sony threads, for the intent purpose to insult the fanbase.
