From y understanding, ME1 can be released on other platforms but can't use any of the original games assets. They'd have to completely remake the game. The story, characters, etc. are EA's property but the original game code belongs to MS. EA is about money and bringing in ME1's voice cast and redoing the game would cost money. I think EA is way too cheap to go that route. One only has to look at the corners that were cut in ME3 to see that.

Edit: As for why EA would do this? Easy money. Porting a UE3 based game to WiiU isn't very costly.

then why not bring over Mass Effect 2 & 3 as a collection? That way you could include the interactive comic and it would be at least as good as the deal PS3 gamers got...
