This is a well established franchise I doubt they spend over $100 million to market it. They already knew it would roughly make between $500-$600 million based on the previous two movies. They kinda went nuts with the budget on the third movie though according to Wikipedia the fist one cost $90 million the second was $140 million and the third one was $225 million.
