It's impressive, a couple of years ago everyone would say how sony has great games but none of them sell on par or even close to other franchises like Gears of War, super mario, etc.. GT5 is approaching 8 Million copies sold, and GOW III has sold well over 5 million copies to date.. that is damn impressive.. heck Uncharted 2 is probably going to top 6 million soon, and Uncharted 3 is probably right behind it.. Sony's first party sales have actually grown almost SIGNIFICANTLY compared to last gen, when they had the dominant console with playstation 2.. No one ever expected GT5 to approaching 8 and maybe reach 9-10 million copies by the time GT5 stops selling, and no one expected GOW III to sell even half as much as GOW II, heck most people called animal crossing on the wii a bigger ip than god of war III(soriku among others.. on this site..) based on the sales of the games on previous nintendo systems.. but during that time, God of war I/II barely sold more than 2-3 million copies according to VGC.. turns out it's as big of a franchise as sony claims it is based on sales alone..
