No I haven't edited anything , I assumed you where right when you said the Gigabyte G1 Sniper 3 was socket 2011 and the i5 3570K was 1155 when it now turns out they are both 1155 . so it looks like my build was ok then , talk about confusion, stiil what about i7 3770 k thoughts?

do you run a lot of video editing, or anything with high levels of parallelism if so it may be worth the cost.
if your just gaming not really the i5 is a better value, that said i have a 2600k OC to 4.3 and use it to host the vgc minecraft server (i also have 32 gb of ram now but most people don't need that) and do video editing/ design work in addition to gaming on it (i was not even planing on making it a gaming box at first, but then a few games came out my laptop could not play and one thing lead to another)
the 2600K can go alot higher than 4.3 - mine will run at 5.1 with voltage tweeks and an air cooler (gets about 85c), but to prolong life, and minimise heat since i moved it to a silent case 4.3 is with no voltage tweek

No not much video editing in the profesional sense anway , so i will most likely get the i5 3570K with the G1 Sniper 3 I really like that Mobo .

rock will make an awesome combo... ive been looking at that mobo too, its an e-atx form factor (closer to ceb really) and i think its just too big for my case by 1/5 an inch and will cut off access to the sata ports its 12" x 10.39" for it vs 12.0" x 9.6" for normal atx
