Will the Wii U controller be for hardcore gamers?

oh please, give me a break, motion controls were so great because we know they could work well with EVERY genre and type of game out there.  Yep that turned out real well. The "hardcore" wasnt opposed to new types of control methods, they were opposed to those that will obviously either not add much or not be functional with all types of games.

OT, it will be an actual controller, so it will be all good. This controller will serve far more genres than the Wiimote could. without attachments. Of course you cant play your dance and fitness games, but thank god the system is backward compatablie

So you're saying motion controls don't help that many genres? What about Sony showing off the Move working with nearly every genre under the sun at the last two E3s?  The only genres that it really didn't help out was 2D fighters, and probably 2D platformers,but even with that said, serious Street Fighter/Tekken players use fightsticks, so it's not like the traditional controller setups were useful in that situation either. 

If the hardcore cared for motion, then they would have been on board with at least the Move.
