That's true, because analog sticks were also around for YEARS before N64 and PS1 (see Atari 5200 or the numerous trackball setups in arcades)... the thing is they weren't practical for 99% of the games at the time, which is why for home console controllers they were impractical. Once companies made the jump from 2D to 3D, analog sticks became a necessity for true 3D gaming... imagine playing Mario 64 or Goldeneye on a D-pad. As for uno's comment, nobody was opposed to dual analogs because they MADE SENSE, and the current gaming environment at the time demanded such a setup. What doesn't make sense is forcing everyone into a control scheme (in this case the Wiimote) that is counter-intuitive for 95% of games out there that are not specifically designed around it. This is why the Wii U is designed more like a traditional controller. What would you fanboys prefer? A touch screen only pad mated to a Wiimote or something?!? lol! |
THIS, ill add, has anyone tried to play a fighting game with just the Wiimote?? Im talking a traditional fighter with multi-button layout. Its unplayable. Ive tried and had to get the CC. I kinda like the way SOny and MS made it, their things are completly optional. Thats the way it should have been IMHO
