the COD games on WIi have been declining since 3, every single one has sold worst than the last. While all the other console (not sure about PC) has actually risen, saying its declining because of Wii U makes no sense, what you think the small amount of COD players on Wii are holding out for a Wii U version?? Knowing that it is an annual franchise and their will be no Wii U version of CODMW3?? Even if they were interested in getting WIi U why would it stop them form buying the Wii version now? I will agree that gamers have been put off by the console, but i doubt it has to do with WiiU, most likely they just bought another console or PC and play the game on that. and judging by how well MW3 is doing compared to BLOPS that seems likely. |
The rate of decline was dropping though; W@W fell 400k from COD3 and MWR another 400k from that; Black Ops fell only 200k less than MWR. MW3 will probably make it to 600k or so; a 600k frop from BO. The movement away from the Wii in 2011 was because of the Wii U not just because the next console was on the way, but because development had shifted from the Wii to the Wii U meaning less games.
